Comparison sites list advertised taşıt kredisi bands. They do not see your KKB file, your salary history at a specific bank, or the model year of the car you actually want to buy. Use them to shortlist, then take the written offer from the bank that will underwrite you.

This is general information. Valrun is not a lender and does not endorse any comparison portal, bank, or dealer. This is not financial, legal, or tax advice. Offers change. A branch can refuse.

What a comparison page actually shows

A typical auto-loan comparison page in Turkey pulls advertised monthly rates, maximum terms, and sometimes a sample installment. Those figures are marketing inputs. They are usually calculated for a round principal, a clean file, and a vehicle type the bank likes (often a new or recent passenger car).

They are not:

  • The rate you will be quoted after a KKB check
  • A promise that the vehicle age you chose is eligible
  • A total cost that already includes file fee, life insurance, or compulsory traffic insurance
  • A ranking of which bank is “best” for you

If two portals disagree on the same bank’s rate, that is normal. One may be stale. One may mix ihtiyaç kredisi (unsecured personal loan) rows with taşıt kredisi rows. One may show a campaign that expired last Friday. Treat the screen as a map of who is currently talking about auto loans, not as a contract.

Why your rate will differ

Turkish banks price taşıt kredisi against collateral and against you. The car is pledged. The bank also looks at income paper, existing installments, and bureau history. A portal cannot run that file.

Common reasons the live quote is worse than the banner:

  • You are new to that bank, so there is no salary flow to lean on
  • The vehicle is older than the product sheet allows, or it is a commercial body type
  • Your other credits already consume a large share of documented income
  • The portal showed a “from” rate that applies only inside a campaign and a customer segment
  • Insurance is bundled in the branch quote and was missing from the monthly number you compared

That last point is the one that wrecks napkin math. The pretty installment is often principal plus interest only. Compulsory insurance, casco if the bank requires it, and a file fee sit beside that number. Confirm what is inside the installment and what is billed separately.

How to use a portal without treating it as gospel

Valrun does not name or endorse a portal. The useful ones share a few habits you can check yourself:

  1. They state a last-updated date you can see without hunting.
  2. They separate taşıt kredisi from ihtiyaç kredisi and from dealer finance, or they label the mix clearly.
  3. They let you set vehicle type (new versus used) and a term, not only a loan amount.
  4. They show that advertised rates are not personal offers.
  5. They do not hide that you still apply at the bank.

If a site wants your TC Kimlik number and phone before it shows any numbers, pause. You can usually browse advertised bands first. Giving identity data to a lead-gen form is not the same as applying at a bank you chose. You may start receiving sales calls from several institutions. That is not faster underwriting. It is a distribution list.

Read the small print on “pre-approval.” A portal pre-approval is often a lead score, not a credit decision. The decision sits with the bank after KKB inquiry and document review.

What to copy off the screen, then verify

When you shortlist, write down four things only:

  • Bank name
  • Advertised monthly rate and the term it was shown for
  • Maximum term and any vehicle-age cap mentioned
  • Whether a file fee or insurance was included in the sample installment

Then go to that bank’s own site or app and find the current taşıt kredisi sheet. If the portal and the bank disagree, the bank wins. If the bank sheet is a range, your place in that range is unknown until they run the file.

Ask the branch or the in-app chat for a written offer: principal, monthly installment, term, file fee, required insurance, early-repayment rule, and whether the rate is fixed for the life of the loan. Screenshot campaigns expire. The paper (or the PDF in internet banking) is what you compare.

A shortlist process that does not waste a week

You do not need fifteen applications. Three serious quotes are enough if they are comparable.

Keep the vehicle constant: same list price or appraisal assumption, same down payment, same term. If Bank A quotes 36 months on a 2024 car and Bank B quotes 48 months on a 2018 car, you are not comparing auto loans. You are comparing two different products.

If you already receive salary at a bank, start there. Existing-customer pricing and faster document checks are common. That is not a rule, and Valrun is not telling you to stay loyal. It is a practical first call because the bank already has an account file.

If you are not a Turkish citizen, confirm before you pay a dealer deposit that the branch can board your ID type and your income type. A portal will not know whether a foreign payroll slip is acceptable.

Calculators on comparison sites

Most portals include an installment calculator. Those tools usually assume an annuity-style (equal monthly) payment: each installment covers interest on the remaining principal plus a slice of principal. That is the same logic banks use for a standard repayment plan. It is still only as good as the rate and fees you typed in.

Do not type the advertised “from” rate and then treat the output as your budget. Type a worse rate as a stress case. Add a line in your own notebook for insurance and the file fee. If the calculator has no field for those, the output is incomplete by design.

What comparison sites are still good for

They are good at answering “who is even offering taşıt kredisi this month” and “what term lengths are being advertised.” They are weak at answering “what will I pay.” Used honestly, they save you from visiting banks that do not finance used cars over a certain age, or that cap the term at 24 months when you need 36.

They are a starting map. The destination is a written bank offer on a specific vehicle.

Before you apply

Confirm whether the vehicle type and model year are eligible, what insurance is required, and how a used-car appraisal can change the loan amount. If you are not a Turkish citizen, confirm the branch can board your ID and income type before you pay a large deposit.
